My Steamboat Willie!

Vanilla cupcake and buttercream frosting. One of my favorites, I've near perfected the recipe but this is the first time I've put fondant on made from scratch cupcakes. So, here it is! My Steamboat Willie... the start of something AMAZING!

Hope the co-workers like them. ;)

Novelty

I think one of my favorite words in the english language is "Novelty."

Think about it, doesn't it just evoke this warm, exciting, "things are changing for the better" feeling? No?

I think it does! I like change, I know some people dread it but change is amazing and contrary to what people believe I think change turns out for the better! Well, I suppose only if you're optimistic. but I usually am, believe it or not. ;)

On a transitional note, I guess I should talk about what's been going on in my life. Give you a little briefing...

To start off... I AM A CLAM...as happy as one flippin' clam!

Whenever I'm able to contemplate how my day went and how my life is going I can honestly sigh with relief and think... "wow. LIFE. IS . GOOD." As of recently I think I've really been able to breath easier knowing that this huge weight is finally off my shoulders. For a very long time I've been overcome with this enormous amount of hurt and although my wounds are still tender I've finally stop... what's the word? oh, I know... CARING! I've really let go and allowed myself to be me. Silly, ridiculous, and snappy Joanna.

and while that Joanna never went away I always downplayed her in fear of judgements...

and now I've just stopped caring because I've figured something out... "he's gonna hate me either way!" hahahaha... and I love this man. With all my heart I do but he would never have loved me...period.

So I'm almost up that hill and I'm so ready to be completely over it. but for now, I am content.

::Breath in. Breath out:: :)
Sara Bareilles! Just about the cutest picture ever! I <3 this girl! I hope I get to see her when she's in town! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

The note that will be eventually written in my mom's birthday card.

Dear Mom,

When I was younger I recall you constantly making sure I was okay. Not just okay... but spectacular. You'd buy me whatever Ice Cream I wanted, you'd buy me the tiniest little toys (My Polly Pocket collection was enormous!) and you'd always take me to chuck-e-cheese just cause I had a school day off. You basically made sure that I had the world...you gave me everything I wanted but also taught me values that helped me grow into someone who would give the shirt off my back. and as I look back I constantly ask myself "how do you do the things you do???" but I suppose that's a mom secret I am yet to unlock. ;)

You gave me everything a child could ask for and as I grow older and move on in life I can't help but think how lucky I am to have had such a dynamic duo as you and dad... you guys clashed like fire and water but please know that you made 3 kids that will one day change little pieces of the world and will one day make life easier for the both of you.

Please understand that that's the battle I fight, and that's the battle that I will eventually teach Marcel and Noel how to fight.

Thank you... times the biggest number in the world, thank you.

Last Nights Dinner...

...consisted of Red Velvet and Tart Frozen Yogurt, a birthday cake cupcake, some brie, strawberry cream cheese frosting and heart crackers.

AMAAAAZING! <3

I now pronounce you...

[Michelle and Baracks] was “one of the happier weddings that I had been to,” says MacArthur, “because people understood that putting the two of them together was like putting hydrogen and oxygen together to create this unbelievable life force. Everybody knew it. We understood that together they were going to be so much more than they would have been individually.”
